Customer Background
Vinausteel – Vietnam Australia Steel is a well-known steel manufacturer based in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The company primarily produces rebar, hot-rolled steel bars, and other construction steel products.
As part of its steel production process, Vinausteel recycles large quantities of scrap steel and other recyclable metals. The processed scrap is then charged into the furnace for steelmaking, supporting the recycling and reuse of metal resources.
Customer Requirements
Vinausteel required a more efficient scrap metal processing solution to reduce material losses during steelmaking while improving the efficiency of scrap storage, handling, and transportation.
Our Solution
To match Vinausteel’s production capacity and scrap processing requirements, Guangdong Tongxing Hydraulic supplied three 500-ton double main cylinder metal balers.
Featuring a dual-main-cylinder mechanical structure, the balers compress loose scrap metal into compact, uniformly shaped bales with high density and consistent weight. The finished bales are easier to handle with forklifts, store, transport, and subsequently charge into the furnace for steelmaking.
The high-pressure forming chamber of the charging box is constructed from High-strength alloy steel.

To ensure smooth commissioning and reliable operation, Tongxing Hydraulic dispatched professional technical engineers to the customer’s site in Vietnam. The service team provided equipment installation, commissioning, operator training, and maintenance guidance. A professional interpreter was also arranged to assist with communication and training for the customer’s employees.
Final Results
With the introduction of the 500-ton double main cylinder metal balers, Vinausteel has further improved its workflow for scrap metal collection, compression, handling, transportation, and furnace charging.
The solution helps improve the efficiency of recyclable metal resource utilization and provides a stable and efficient scrap metal processing solution for steel production.
