Steel Scrap Processing: 630T Double-Main-Cylinder Metal Baler
630T Double-Main-Cylinder Baler Commissioned in Malaysia
In July 2025, a 630T double-main-cylinder metal baler from Guangdong Tongxing Hydraulic was successfully commissioned at a customer site in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Customer Profile
The client is a recycled metal recycling enterprise with a 3,000-square-meter facility, mainly handling scrap steel recycling, sorting, processing, and baling. As business grew, its previous equipment could no longer keep up with the roughly 4,000 tons of scrap steel processed monthly.

The Challenge
The client mainly processes demolition scrap, structural steel, and industrial processing scrap—bulky, irregularly shaped materials that are inefficient to store and transport when loose.

The Solution
To meet the client’s requirements, Tongxing Hydraulic supplied a 630T double-main-cylinder metal baler. The high-pressure forming chamber of the charging box is constructed from High-strength alloy steel, providing excellent wear and impact resistance and a service life of more than 10 years under normal operating conditions. The machine combines high-speed baling, high output, and low energy consumption, reducing energy use per ton while maintaining strong compression capability.

Key Specifications
- Model: 630T double-main-cylinder metal baler
- Charging box dimensions: 3,500 × 3,000 × 1,300 mm
- Bale dimensions: 700 × 700 mm
- Target bale weight: Approximately 900–1,300 kg per bale
- Motor power: 55 kW × 2 = 110 kW
Design Highlights
To address Malaysia’s climate and the demands of 24-hour high-load production, the baler is equipped with an air-conditioned hydraulic oil cooling system. This controls oil temperature and ensures stable hydraulic system operation.

Tongxing Hydraulic technicians traveled to the customer site to provide installation, commissioning, and operator training, ensuring a smooth start to production.
Final Results
After the equipment was commissioned, scrap materials were compressed into neatly formed bales for easy forklift handling, stacking, lifting, and loading. This has effectively improved storage and transport efficiency while advancing mechanization and standardization.
